"China (Companies) Order-in-Council",
As I have already verbally advised lils
Kajesty's Consul General, the revised draft
Order appears to me to need further revision
in the following particulars:-
1.
The term "China Company", as at pre-
sent defined in article 2, moɑns a company
limited by stares, and does not include a
Company limited by guarantee. There are com-
panies limited by guarantee other than charit-
able, literary or artistic associations in-
corporated in Hongkong and best controlled
within the limits of the order, for instance
the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Pilot
Associations.
Although the Stock Exchange,
having proved to the satisfaction of the Gover-
nor of liongkong in accordance with article 21
of the Companies Ordinance, 1911, that they
